Intro description For 'Million Dollar Punch'

Trainspotter intro:
Choose Life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a fucking big television, choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol, and dental insurance. Choose fixed interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisurewear and matching luggage. Choose a three-piece suit on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who the fuck you are on Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pissing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked up brats you spawned to replace yourselves. Choose your future. Choose life... But why would I want to do a thing like that? I chose not to choose life. I chose somethin' else. And the reasons? There are no reasons. Who needs reasons when you've got heroin?

Why we have chosen this:
This is the the similar script that we will be using at the beginning of our film, as you can see here this is from the film 'TrainSpotting' we will be using this text to change into our own about illegal fighting.

"Million Dollar Punch" Poster Image

Using a Photo editing application on my phone I created the cover and poster for 'Million Dollar Punch'. After filming the scene in the film when both fighters shake hands once the fight had finished, I had them hold the position to take a photo, with the photo I then made the entire picture black and white other that Jimmy Sharmans (Lee Arnold) hand, I did this as I think it gave very good affect. To further this effect I then gave the image a cartoon style look. This shows how I created the image:

This is the original photo I took:

I then gave the photo the black and white effect:

Here is the final finished image with the cartoon style effect. This is the image and poster for 'Million Dollar Punch':

In the future we plan to create a case for 'Million Dollar Punch' and this image will feature on the front cover alongside a title, reviews and production logo.

Props/Equipment

Here is our first image of our props. As you can see here we have used ketchup to convey the blood and coke to give it the liquidy texture that is needed to show the realistic blood, and its easier to spit out.
Here is the end result of the Ketchup + coke.

Here are the hand wraps we are using in the fight sequence for the protectio and also for the costume design.
Here is the 'matress' where Lee Arnold will be using it to punch, in one of opening scenes that we did.

This is the treadmill that features in the training session of Kieran Tylers part.
This chai used at the very start of the film where Lee Arnold will be sitting down to show the opening.

Ths cloth is used to add the sweat feature to the actors to show the work force upon the characters.

The Guitar is used to make the theme of the film, which is fully composed throughout the film.

For lighting effects we used the video alsh of an iphone which actually worked very well than we expected.
The software that we used to edit the movie was Imovie for apple mac. The overall functions of the film editer was very good and provided alot of effects and equipment. The second software we used was Garageband for Mac, this me to add the music that we wanted to do. The overall functions of this wa svery good and showed consistent quality.

The equipment that we were able to access was a apple mac.We chose to do it on here as the software is already provided for us.

Background information on main video progress

On Saturday 3rd December we completed the filming for 'Million Dollar Punch'
we did much better than we first expected, we came up with many ideas during filming such as the idea for having Lee spit out ketchup when being punched in the mouth. Lee and Kieran kept their roles as the fighters, me and Rudi helped to choreograph the fight and we did many takes until we were satisfied with the shots we had. One of the problems we faced when filming is that we lauged many times, so we had to keep re-taking the shots. Also it was very cold in the garage and lee and Kieran did not have T-shirts on.

In the begining of the film we showed Lee getting ready for the fight in the dark to show how poor and nervous he is, Rudi filmed this while I shined my phones torch at Lee for the effect that we wanted. When we showed Kieran preparing for the fight we showed him in a house and training on a treadmil to show that he is rich and not nervous about this fight.

We discussed each scene before we filmed to find whats best to do and any ideas we have to improve on, Me and Rudi directed the film and helped Lee and Kieran to perform their best, I helped with most of the props and extras such as creating the sweat and doing the lighting, Rudi did the Majority of the filming and creating the music, Lee did the acting and some directing, Danny helped with editing after the film had been created.
We are going to edit our film again to add improvements and add extra shots, we plan to take away the ending and just show the first two minutes of what would be our full length film.

During filming I took a few behind the scenes shots which I will upload to the blog.

Influential sets and mise-en-scene

Planning for Million Dollar Punch

We will film 'Million Dollar Punch' in Rudi's Garage as it is dark, similar to where most fighting films are set in. In our research we found the likely place where illegal boxing would take place is a warehouse, the garage is the closet setting we can get to this.

One idea we have is to spray water onto both Lee and Danny as they are the fighters, this will look like sweat and make the fight seem that bit more realistic.

Another way we plan to add realism is to have red food colouring on the fighters, this will hopefully look like blood and show the fight to be tough and violent, like a real illegal fight.

The garage will be very dark but we are going to use lamps and adjust them till they only shine light onto the fighters, we think this will give a very good effect.

When researching into illegal fighting I found a very good source, which is a Video game called 'MMA Supremacy' this focuses entirely around illegal fighting and puts gamers in control of an underground fighter who is trying to achieve fame, very similar to our plot for 'Million Dollar Punch'. These are some images that I have looked at of 'MMA Supremacy'These have given me a better idea of how our setting and fight can look like:
